Estimating

Recently in class we did a take-off and estimate of the concrete used in the construction of the R&D Facility. We first did a quantity take-off of the concrete with pencil and paper and then inserted this data into Costworks. In Costworks we did an assembly and unit price version of the take-off an then imported this data into excel. Above is my spreadsheet for the assembly price. Included in the assembly cost are the spread footings, strip footings, concrete slabs on grade, the concrete stairs, and the excavation.

This is the unit price for the concrete. The unit price includes all of the components associated with the concrete. This includes the concrete itself, the form work, reinforcing steel, and wire mesh for the slabs.
